    What a lovely bittersweet story. I read it all the way through in two days. It perfectly fits the insane way things work today when something interrupts the flow of events in the welfare of children. It’s such a narrow line to walk, preserving the welfare of a child and serving the welfare of an organization. In Hawaii, I participated in a court case that went on for years.     Just finished this book and as usual with Bette Lee Crosby’s work was not disappointed. I have read ALL of her novels and can not choose a favorite.... they were all fantastic. Keeping a watch for any new stories. She is one of my favorite authors.

    After losing our daughter, her husband remarried & moved away. Reading this book helped me to understand many things. I loved this story - it was similar to what I went through with two of the four children. It gave me a new sense of hope for the two that I had such a short time with.
